BIRD x V11 presents: Raul Monsalve y Los Forajidos

Raul Monsalve is a Venezuelan bassist dedicated to exploring traditional Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Venezuelan sounds. What started in Venezuela evolved into his project, Raul Monsalve y Los Forajidos, now touring Europe with a stop in Rotterdam on Wednesday, March 5.

After a short break and the success of their album Bichos, they are now ready to present their new album SOL. Expect a mix of afrobeat, dub, raw experimental electronics, and deep grooves, driven by percussion, synths, and powerful vocals. With a seven-piece band on stage, they have already impressed at the Super-Sonic Jazz Festival, leading to a performance at Felabration and a special vinyl release on their label.

Guided by Los Forajidos, Raul Monsalve creates a retro-futuristic soundtrack, shaped with the production influence of Malcolm Catto from The Heliocentrics.
