Roosbeef

Dutch-language indie band Roosbeef comes to LantarenVenster with new music and a sixth studio album on the horizon.

Led by singer and songwriter Roos Rebergen, the Dutch-Belgian band has been carving out its own corner of Dutch pop since 2008. Sharp observations, melancholy, dry humour and unexpected turns run through songs that move between indie pop and more idiosyncratic arrangements.

After five studio albums and a special collaboration with SunSunSun Orchestra, Roosbeef is starting a new chapter. Recent songs Binnensmonds and De Leugen offer the first glimpse of the band’s upcoming sixth album.

Rebergen won the Grote Prijs van Nederland in 2005 and later formed De Speeldoos with Torre Florim of De Staat, releasing two albums together. She has also published the poetry collection Ik ben al elf jaar geen zestien meer.

Listeners of Spinvis, Lucky Fonz III and Eefje de Visser should find plenty to enjoy here.
