John Scofield Combo 75

Legendary American jazz guitarist John Scofield celebrates his 75th birthday with a special tour and a formidable new quartet featuring Gerald Clayton, Vicente Archer and Bill Stewart.

Across a career spanning more than five decades, Scofield has moved freely between bebop, blues, funk and more orchestral forms of jazz while maintaining an instantly recognisable guitar sound. He has won three Grammy Awards and released more than fifty albums as a bandleader.

For this anniversary tour, Scofield reunites with the spirit of his acclaimed Combo 66 project while surrounding himself with musicians from a younger generation. Pianist Gerald Clayton, bassist Vicente Archer and long-time collaborator Bill Stewart join him for a concert built around interplay, improvisation and Scofield’s distinctive groove.

This will mark Scofield’s tenth appearance at LantarenVenster.
