Fanfare Ciocărlia

Description

Romanian brass legends Fanfare Ciocărlia return to Grounds with their famously fast and explosive mix of Balkan brass, Eastern European funk and dance rhythms.

The ten-piece ensemble has built an international reputation around breakneck tempos, technical precision and a wall of trumpets, saxophones, tubas and percussion. Their music draws on Romani brass traditions while pushing them into something louder, faster and distinctly their own.

Fanfare Ciocărlia has released ten albums, several of which reached the top of the European world music charts, and has played more than 3,000 concerts around the globe. Their Rotterdam appearance brings that high-energy live sound back to Grounds.

After the concert, Deejay Fevelina keeps the evening going with an afterparty.
