Eric Vloeimans’ Pico Bello Extended

For the Orange Jazz Days festival at TivoliVredenburg, trumpeter and composer Eric Vloeimans was commissioned to create a new suite — a work that fully expresses his unmistakable musical signature. With his lyrical tone, subtle melancholy and boundless musical imagination, Vloeimans bridges jazz, classical and improvisational worlds with ease. The result is a rich, captivating suite that is both intimate and exuberant, performed by top-tier musicians.

While composing, Orange Jazz led him to the colour orange — a hue that continuously reinvents itself. From warm amber and radiant cadmium to intense neon, each shade became part of his creative palette. This variety and nuance reflect the same diversity found in his music. In Pico Bello, Eric’s unique voice takes centre stage, merging colour, emotion and imagination into a single musical narrative. The suite is an adventure where past, present and future meet, with orange as its glowing metaphor.
