Reggae Rotterdam is the largest open-air reggae music festival in the Netherlands. The next edition takes place on July 22nd, 2018 in Kralingse Bos.
The first edition of the Rotterdam Reggae festival was held in 2017 at Het Park near Euromast. Tickets were sold out quickly as the event attracted over 15,000 reggae fans from all over the country as well as abroad.
This year, the Reggae Rotterdam festival moves to a new and larger location at Kralingse Bos in an effort to better accommodate the thousands of fans. According to the event organisers, this year you'll find that there is more space, more food and a recreational area for kids. In fact, kids under the age of 10 enter the festival for free.
Jimmy Cliff, Black Uhuru, Yellowman, Collie Buddz
Artists have been divided across three stages. On the main stage, you'll find (future) legends such as Jimmy Cliff, Black Uhuru and Collie Buddz. The dancehall stage features Mr. Vegas, Popcaan, Chaka Demus & Pliers among others and the tropical stage has been reserved for soca, zouk and reggaeton artists such as Kevin Lyttle, Trafassi and Ir-Sais.
Fans of Jimmy Cliff should note that this will sadly may as well be the final opportunity to see the reggae legend perform. The seventy-year-old reggae artist is currently on a farewell tour and will stop performing thereafter.
