The World of Hans Zimmer
Date: Tuesday, 13 November 2018 Venue: Rotterdam Ahoy Ahoyweg 10, 3084 BA Genre: Symphonic
In contrast to the renowned “Hans Zimmer Live” tour, where the sound focuses on Zimmer’s band and the electronic sounds of the music, “The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration” will present the composer’s works arranged for a live symphony orchestra for the very first time. From The Lion King to Gladiator, Zimmer spent months working on transforming his soundtracks into opulent concert suites.
Young Gun Silver Fox
Date: Wednesday, 14 November 2018 Venue: LantarenVenster Otto Reuchlinweg 996, 3072 MD Genre: 70's rock
Young Gun Silver Fox is a hard-to-resist duo. One member (singer-songwriter Andy Platts) is from California, while the other (multi-instrumentalist Shawn Lee) hails from London; fittingly, the duo's debut is called West End Coast. The sound, as the band's label, Wax Poetics Records, puts it, is a "modern re-imagining of the classic West Coast AOR studio sound of the mid- to late '70s." In other words: yacht rock. Platts and Lee have lovingly recreated a sound and vibe from the past.
Jungle by Night fuses passion, friendship and influences from krautrock, dance, jazz and afro beat into an instrumental power house, fluently speaking the language of their instruments (and each other).
Tip: if tickets are sold out, be sure to check out the venue website. Sometimes, a portion of the tickets may still be available through the venue.
