Description
Pianist and composer Aaron Parks thrives on pushing jazz beyond its traditional boundaries, infusing it with elements of indie rock, hip-hop, and electronica. His band, Little Big, crafts cinematic, melodic music that traces its origins to his album Invisible Cinema (2008), blending modern rhythms with compelling narratives. Parks creates a distinct world where jazz, R&B, indie, and alt-country seamlessly intertwine.
After seven years, Parks returns to LantarenVenster with Little Big III, the third studio album from his band, released via Blue Note Records. Alongside guitarist Greg Tuohey, bassist David Ginyard Jr., and drummer Jongkuk Kim, he delivers expressive and dynamic interplay that elevates their musical synergy. The result is both powerful and intimate, balancing subtle refinement with raw emotion. “This album feels alive and flexible,” says Parks, “but also brings everything back to its essence.”
