Young orchestras take over the Grote Zaal for the Nationale Orkestspelen final

The Finale Nationale Orkestspelen 2026 brings a full day of youth symphony orchestras to De Doelen’s Grote Zaal. The national festival for youth symphony orchestras has been organised since 2006, and this edition marks its eighth year.

The Rotterdam final is the closing event of the 2026 competition, with seven youth orchestras performing throughout the day. Each orchestra brings its own fresh, energetic programme and its own soloist, making the day a showcase of young musical talent from across the Netherlands.

Visitors can walk in and discover a different youth symphony orchestra every hour. A rather lovely way to spend a Sunday, honestly.
