Vega Trails: Sierra Tracks
Event
Description
Experience an intimate evening of live music with Vega Trails during In The Round at LantarenVenster. The band plays surrounded by the audience, drawing you into their evocative world. To set the mood, a DJ will perform before and after the concert, with drinks available at the in-room bar.
Inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of the Sierra de Guadarrama in northwestern Madrid, Milo Fitzpatrick presents his latest album, Sierra Tracks. As one of the founders of Portico Quartet, Milo’s project Vega Trails adds a new dimension to his distinctive, chamber jazz sound. Building on the intimate tones of their debut Tremors in the Static, the album incorporates piano, vibraphone, strings, and cello, weaving a rich, cinematic tapestry. “Nature profoundly shapes my music,” Milo explains. “The colours, light, and expansive space of the landscape are constant sources of inspiration.”
For Sierra Tracks, Milo collaborated with an ensemble of gifted musicians, including multi-instrumentalist Jordan Smart (Mammal Hands) and vibraphone virtuoso Harriet Riley. String arrangements, inspired by the works of Hania Rani, enhance the album with majestic, filmic qualities. Tracks like Largo invite listeners into a serene reflection of the natural world’s beauty and chaos.
More than just a musical project, Sierra Tracks is a deeply personal narrative about mental well-being and healing. Milo explores how the act of walking or running through nature can foster clarity and renewal. This album is a tribute to the connection between art, nature, and music—a remedy for both body and soul.
