The genre-defying Michael Ekow has joined forces with producer and guitarist May, forming the enigmatic and powerful duo Michael Ekow & May. With boldness and creativity, they explore the realms of indie, pop, hip-hop, R&B, and house, meticulously weaving elements from each into a unique musical universe. Ekow’s sharp lyrics and poetic storytelling meet May’s innovative productions, resulting in songs that vividly capture the moment—from introspective musings to energetic club anthems.
Inspired by artists like Rod Stewart, Florence + the Machine, Kendrick Lamar, and Frank Ocean, their music is as eclectic as it is distinctive. Their collaboration birthed the EP You Don’t Know What’s Going On, Talk to Me Nice!, released in June 2024. This storytelling collection blends punk-inspired vocals, hip-hop narratives, and seamless R&B/pop melodies.
