Heavy Lungs are an unrelenting force in modern punk, delivering raw, unapologetically loud energy with an air of chaotic precision. Their sound—marked by storming distortion and visceral screams—cuts as sharply as a freshly whetted blade. Yet, it’s not just their ferocious music that commands attention. Their no-nonsense stage presence radiates an intimidating fervour, reminiscent of a snarling, rabid hound perpetually poised to snap its chain, yet somehow holding back.

With their critically acclaimed debut album, All Gas No Brakes (2023), released via Alcopop! Records, the band has ignited stages across the United Kingdom and Europe. Notably, they delivered a blistering set during the 2024 edition of Left of the Dial. Their performances channel the reckless abandon of 1980s and ’90s punk legends, carrying that same uncompromising intensity to every stage they grace.

Since their inception, Heavy Lungs have moved with the swiftness of lightning, storming through venues alongside kindred spirits like IDLES, Thee Oh Sees, METZ, and JOHN. Through this, they’ve carved out a steadfast position in the vanguard of today’s thriving punk scene.
