Izo FitzRoy brings gospel-powered soul to BIRD

On Thursday 24 April, Izo FitzRoy returns to Rotterdam. Her music blends the raw vocal power of blues legends like Janis Joplin with the sincerity of soul storytellers such as Bill Withers—rooted in gospel, delivered with grit.

Following the success of her debut album, FitzRoy toured across Europe, collaborating with artists like Kraak & Smaak, Smoove & Turrell, and Lovebirds. She performed to sold-out crowds in the UK and Europe, and appeared on “Later… with Jools Holland” alongside Sampha, Christone “KINGFISH” Ingram and others.

Known for her tight grooves and heartfelt lyrics, FitzRoy takes her live shows to the next level with a unique nine-strong gospel vocal lineup. In 2024, she wowed crowds at SXSW and began work on her new album: a fresh mix of folk, psychedelia, funk and soul, produced by Swedish producer Sven Wunder.
