After a successful introduction in Amsterdam, electric scooter-sharing startup felyx raises 3 million euros for an expansion to Rotterdam. Starting in September 2018, Rotterdam residents will also be able to make their way around the city with these green e-scooters.
In Rotterdam, the startup will launch with 324 e-scooters. A lot more than in Amsterdam, where thousands of users collectively share the 108 electric scooters that are available. Felyx's e-scooters can be picked up and left everywhere in the city and can be rented via the felyx app for Apple and Android. Rides cost €0.30 per minute.
Felyx is going to be test driving their scooters in Rotterdam in the coming weeks and expects to open the service to everyone in September 2018.

The e-scooters are not only green in colour, they are also 100% electric and run entirely on green electricity. At the moment, the available e-scooters have covered 430,000 km in less than a year and saved 50 tonnes of CO2. This reduction in CO2 is equal to growing 2,500 trees for an entire year. In addition, the entire fleet is limited to the legal speed of 25 km/h.The launch of felyx in Rotterdam is an important milestone for co-founder Quinten Selhorst: "Our goal is not only to transport people but also to make cities in the Netherlands more livable. If you avoid the car and taxi on short trips, you get fewer traffic jams, fewer emissions and you also travel faster from A to B."
